Approximately 25% of all women will experience a miscarriage in their reproductive years. A miscarriage is not something you just “get over.” Although the physical healing can occur quickly, the emotional recovery can sometimes take much longer. The length of the pregnancy is unrelated to the length of the recovery process. In fact, some women experience a lengthy process of grieving, which can be exacerbated by a lack of understanding from her partner, family and friends. It is not uncommon for women to feel intense anger, guilt, emptiness, confusion, anxiety and/or overwhelming sadness following a miscarriage. Unresolved feelings can result in ongoing emotional and physical challenges, which can affect future pregnancies and birthing experiences.
This group is for women who have experienced a pregnancy loss and are looking for a confidential, supportive environment in which to heal and to grieve. There will be open sharing time for those who wish to do so, as well as structured therapeutic opportunities geared to the needs of the participants.
This group meets every Monday night from 7 to 8:30 pm. when there are enough participants registered.
Please email the group facilitator, Kathryn Wagner if you would like to attend (kathrynwagner@thewellnesscollaborative.com) or call her at 519.242.4672 if you have questions.
Cost is $10 per meeting.
“An angel in the book of life wrote down my baby’s birth.
Then whispered as she closed the book “too beautiful for earth”.
